My name is Melody Walker and I am an early childhood teacher, costume designer and online vintage shop owner! I am always asked by my family, peers, and people in passing, how on Earth did I get into this lifestyle? For me, it isn't just about the clothes or the home decor or the music and films, it's a state of mind. This vintage lifestyle has created a constant source of inspiration for me. When I curl my hair just right, put on the red lipstick, the vintage dress and accessories, I truly feel like I can take on anything that comes my way! For me vintage is also about preserving black history. Not just our history of struggle but our history of glamour, entertainment, and accomplishing milestones. This blog will showcase vintage styling, classic music playlists, vintage home decor, retro recipes and cocktails, and old film reviews.
