A Spring GFV Look

Spring is a lovely yet unpredictable season. You never know what the weather is going to bring! So I decided to share a mini blog post on a layered look that you can put together shopping Gal Friday Vintage's Depop and Poshmark shops.

Let's start with this fabulous 1970s red high low halter dress created by ILGWU. It is in excellent condition and has small details that highlight how dynamic 70s clothing can truly be. I love the pleating at the upper bodice with draping that comes out of the neckline and goes down the center front. The dress is poly-knit and easy to slip on and off.

My favorite detail is the circle cut out in the back, which gives high drama! This dress reminds me of something that Megan Draper would wear in Mad Men.

This 1960/70s Mincara faux fur cape would pair perfectly with the halter dress. Capes are a fashionable way to add a layer when it gets a bit nippy outside. I adore the gold button and the large dramatic faux fur collar. If this cape looks familiar to you, it's because you've seen me wearing this in an older blog post.

I've desperately tried to research this label which says "Mincara Styled by Russel Taylor." There are threads upon threads on Vintage Fashion Guild where people try to decode and figure out when Mincara faux fur coats were made. I believe this is a 1960s or early 1970s number!

Finally, it is always a good idea to wear a nice pair of nylons or seamed stockings and a garter belt! These deadstock nylons are by Famous Quality Nylons and are still in their original packaging. I absolutely love the package's design. These nylons were gifted to me a while back, and while I adore them, I cannot bear to open them and wear them because I love the packaging too much! So I figured I'd sell them to someone who would be able to wear and appreciate them.

The nylons are marked a size 9 1/2, but you'll have to use discretion when purchasing because they are from the past. So sizes may differ a bit! All of these items are available on GFV's Depop and Poshmark accounts.

Thank you for tuning in, and I'll see you next week!
