Classic Car for a Classic Gal

What compliments a vintage style gal more than a classic looking car? This thought crossed my mind when I decided to buy my white and black 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible. It is pretty much my dream car! I feel super stylish and chic riding around town in this baby. My thought process when choosing a car was that it had to run pretty well and go with all of my outfits! The perfect car typically matches your persona and style.

Rain or shine, snow or leaves, you will always find me working in a scarf in some capacity. During the winter times or on windy days, I love to wear a scarf around my head with a knot in the front or back. This long sheer rose printed scarf is perfect for a bit of a dramatic look. On cold days this scarf technique provides warmth to the head and ears while giving a retro look. Picture Elizabeth Taylor in A Place in the Sun (1951) cruising around in her convertible with Montgomery Clift by her side. That's the ideal look that I go for!

My 1950s wool coat has a gorgeous tan fur collar attached which provides so much warmth during the winter. If you own a vintage or new coat and want added warmth, you can always buy a fur or faux fur collar to attach to the collars of you coat.

These beautiful 1950s beige gloves (more info on gloves here) pair perfectly with the brown tones of the coat!

During the colder days, I love to pair white button downs with simple high-waisted pants. I prefer comfortable and simple looks that I can easily accessorize with the right scarves or jewelry. My top is a cool white asymmetrical button down shirt with a draped turtleneck. I bought this white silk button down from a consignment shop. It was a bit too big on me, but I love the drape and fullness it creates with high waisted pants that ties in at the natural waistline. These pants are from Zara and are the most comfortable pants I own. There is a drawstring at the waist which provides room for the stomach to breathe.

My 1950s brown wool coat is super warm and pretty. The deep brown big wooden buttons (one needs to be replaced) and tan fur collar accents the grayish brown color of the coat well.

Shades are always a necessity with scarves. These white round ones gives a retro look and compliments the rose scarf. Unfortunately due to the cold weather, I cannot ride around with the top down on my convertible. During the warmer days, I will continue to wear scarves tied in this manner in order to prevent windswept hair.

I did not get a photograph of my PT Cruiser on its own, but this is what it looks like! It has a black hood and drops down into an automatic convertible. The black hood and side mirrors accent the white car body nicely. There are gorgeous silver details with the Chrysler symbol in the front of the car and the gorgeous handles that push in. This is a very quirky and cute car that provides a comfortable ride and a vintage feel. It reminds me of a European car circa 1960s!

Overall I am very happy with my car! This is just a sneak peek of all of the cute posts to come once I officially move back to Cleveland in May. Prepare for vintage and retro home decor in my apartment, tons of huge hauls and showcasing of cute shops, and even a YouTube channel! See you next Friday darlings xx
