Mini OOTD

Hello dearies! I'm sharing a mini outfit of the day post with you. In October, my best friend, Cierra Boyd of FRISKMEGOOD, whom many of you are undoubtedly familiar with, held a fashion show called Area 51. The show featured futuristic and extraterrestrial-inspired fashion. You can find her fabulous, innovative clothing here. With Beyonce's Renaissance movement and a revival of 1970s disco, retro-futurism, and all things silver and gold, I thought it fitting to share the outfit I wore to the fashion show.

I always love to mix vintage and modern pieces when going out. For clothing, I wore a thrifted and gifted stretchy silver vinyl Shein set that consists of a bandeau-style top with straps and a mini skirt. When worn with just these two pieces, the outfit puts me in the mind of Destiny's Child, specifically the Survivor (2001) album cover. The set also has a matching silver jacket piece I exchanged for this day in favor of my new-to-me vintage 1980s black sheer ruffled robe. For accessories, I carried a mini metal decor purse from Target and wore my thrifted black crisscross strappy heels. I wanted to try something new for my hair and wore a synthetic blonde and brown wavy wig 28-inch wig, which tied into my Destiny's Child inspiration.

I still need to see the documentary Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé (2023) before the year is out to have another opportunity to wear a cool outfit inspired by the metallic and eclectic looks one thinks of when one thinks of the influence of this Renaissance era.

Thank you for tuning in, and I will see you next week!
