Polka Dots and Fascinators

Hello darlings, I am back with a new post! How has your summer been? I hope much more fun and eventful than mine has been thus far. I've been laying low, working, and putting together content and vintage clothing, as well as constructing original pieces for Gal Friday Vintage. But boy do I long to be on a white beach somewhere with a Mai Tai in hand, no worries and cares in the world. Just a little break from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

But thus back to reality I go and I am here with another Outfit of the Day for you lovelies!

I'll begin with my accessories today as they are the focal points of my outfit. I am obsessed with this black vintage fascinator hat! I cannot remember where I picked this up, but it such a unique one. This fascinator has amazing details such as the petals outlined with small silver beadwork. The petals are attached with velveted webbing holding the fascinator together, a pristine velvet bowtie and netting on top.

I also put on this fabulous vintage rhinestone brooch that I purchased from Flower Child. The brooch is a fabulous swirl with small rhinestones leading out to larger ones and a large rhinestone at the center. My 1990s black purse is a recent find from Salvation Army for $5. It reminds me of something that Alicia Silverstone or Stacy Dash's characters would have worn on Clueless. This is a nice sized purse that can hold more than the usual cards, lipstick, and keys. I also love that it can be held or worn as a shoulder bag. It is a simple black purse made from lining material accented with gorgeous marabou trim.

Makeup-wise I kept it very simple. I used e.l.f.'s bright pink blush as my eyeshadow and blush and put on Revlon's "Pink in the Afternoon" nude (same lipstick worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's).

For my outfit I kept it simple but classic in a little black polka dotted dress. It is a fit n flare most likely purchased at some chain store. I bought this so many years ago and it has never failed me! These kinds of outfits are necessary on very hot days such as this one was. You can still maintain some fabulousness with the right accessories to jazz up any outfit!

Hope you enjoyed this little post and I will see you all next Friday!
