A Little Jackie O.

Another day, another blog post. I have to admit to you dear reader that I have had some changes in my personal life that have been a bit challenging for me. However every change makes way for new beginnings and I am very excited for the future! Gal Friday Vintage is expanding to an actual vintage shop! It has been my dream for years now to own a charming little vintage shop filled with glamorous pieces from the past (1920s-70s). I cannot get a storefront just yet, but that doesn't mean I can't sell online. Not only will I sell vintage clothing and accessories, later on this year I will sell original vintage-inspired lingerie and loungewear handcrafted by yours truly! All updates can be viewed on my Gal Friday Vintage Instagram account (here).

And now on to my Outfit of the Day, I am wearing one of my favorite dresses of all time! It is 1980s does 1940s dress by Cynthia Howie for Maggy Boutique. During the 1980s, Cynthia Howie made lots of gorgeous vintage inspired dresses with finishes very similar to the styles of past eras. Many of her dresses remind me of Jackie O! I love this grey polyester long-sleeved dress. It is practically fully lined except for the sleeves which is an awesome touch since the fabric is polyester, giving the arms room to breathe. I absolutely love the fact that it is drop waisted and has 4 big piped patch pockets and kick pleats. Granted, I realize I have the belt a bit too high, but I love this look nonetheless!

For accessories, I opted for a cream vintage faux fur hat that has a tail at the back. I wore dangly pearl earrings with huge rhinestones in the center that I bought from Charming Charlie's for $6. Charming Charlie's is a fabulous place to find vintage looking costume jewelry and accessories for a good price! For shoes, I'm wearing a simple black flat with gold hardware details paired with black knee high socks.
