A Letter to the Void

Dear anyone who is still reading this blog,

I am very mindful of my presence and absence on this blog, and in some ways, it haunts me. I love GFV and the space that it has given me to write words that interest me beyond an academic scope--which is the writing that I am used to partaking in. I love history, antique and vintage artifacts, aesthetics and fashion, and quality films. This small online space allows me to explore all of my interests, but admittedly I feel discouraged by the dying art of blogging.

Blogging is of the past, yet I am unsure how to transfer my blog's content to another space or medium. Last year my post "Dear Vintage Community" made such a buzz and raised meaningful and critical discussions. The number of interactions and feedback that I received reminded me of the importance of maintaining a space where black history and vintage creators are essential in this community. That buzz was short-lived, and I find myself questioning if it is worth keeping this blog or letting it go?

I apologize for this post, as it is essentially a venting and questioning of my online existence. I want to be honest about part of why I go MIA--on top of being insanely busy and burnt out. I do not know what this may transform into or where but I will figure it out eventually.

To anyone who continues to read this blog in any capacity, I sincerely thank you and hope you continue to support GFV on its continued journey.
