27 Candles

Hello, darlings! I am back with a new post on the week of my 27th birthday. Boy, does it feel good to be back! I've spent the past few months adjusting to juggling a demanding full-time job and graduate school. There's been little time for glamour--or so it feels like it! The day before my birthday, I came down with a nasty sinus infection. I'm glad I got in some photographs in my new-to-me vintage outfit before being under the weather. Zipping myself into my fabulous birthday look was refreshing. I miss the days of consistently dressing like the women who inspire me most from yesteryear. I've decided to use this post as a sort of inspiration board for all of you! I have my Outfit of the Day and photographs that have served as inspiration for me lately. I hope this inspires you (and I) to throw on those show stopping pieces--even on the days, we feel the lousiest. It may not cure a cold, but it makes you feel better on the inside.

When I first saw this light cobalt blue number on the hanger at Chelsea's Costumes, I initially thought it was a long flowy dress. Boy, was I delightfully surprised when I discovered pant legs as I tried the jumpsuit on in the dressing room. This beauty comes from the late 1960s/70s. I adore the cape-like sheer sleeves and backing, as well as the embroidered trimming at the bodice. Although this jumpsuit is all polyester, it was surprisingly super comfortable and breathable! I paired this look with my custom rhinestoned tortoiseshell sunglasses from Flower Child and olive green close-toed heels.

I am going to share with you some images that have served as great inspiration for me lately! I will also include the source of each photograph.
