Branigans and Martinis
Hello lovelies! How have you all been enjoying the sun and gorgeous weather? I’ve been holed up in my apartment trying to complete summer graduate work, but I try to take breaks to get outside and relish in the warmth and fresh air. On this day, I decided to get dolled up in all things vintage and go out and enjoy a lovely early dinner at my favorite French restaurant, Le Petit Triangle in Cleveland, Ohio. (I highly recommend it if you’re into fancy French cuisine and superb cocktails!)
I recently purchased this lovely 1960s Branigans floral ankle-length dress at The Bombshelter in Akron, Ohio on my last major vintage excursion. I absolutely adore the color palette of this dress—the floral print with its black, lime green, periwinkle, teal, and electric blue vibrant colors against a white backdrop. My vintage black kitten heels have a bow on them and are 1980s does 1950s style. I purchased these heels from Future No Future Vintage awhile back.
I absolutely adore this black vintage top handle handbag that I purchased at an antique/vintage shop called All Things for You. It is the perfect size—it’s small but can fit all of the essentials and a little extra in it. It is also leather and extremely great quality. If I had to guess the timeframe the handbag was made I’d say late 1950s/early 1960s based on the inside details. My sunglasses are true 1970s vintage rounded tortoiseshell sunnies purchased from Flower Child Vintage. My cocktail of choice? A vodka martini with a twist!
Cheers to a new summer! Let’s see how many 1960s/70s floral dresses I can wiggle myself into this year. I’ll see you next week!!
