2020 Welcome
Hello all! It's the first Friday of 2020 and I am back with some updates. This little blog has been up and running for a couple years now which is crazy to think about. I started this blog while I was still a college student in New York City, just wanting to document vintage inspired outfits. Boy, how time flies! I spent my New Year's Eve in New York City visiting lovely friends in lovely spaces. 2019 was a difficult but overall triumphant year for me. I learned some hard lessons in my personal life but I also grew greatly in my professional life.
I was fortunate enough to obtain consistent work in theatre where I've been costume designing and wardrobe supervising at various theatre in my hometown. I have also been fortunate in obtaining a prekindergarten assistant teaching job which has been my day job and I absolutely love it. I learn so many life lessons from children and they fill me with optimism. In the mean time I have been slowly and steadily collecting vintage clothing and accessories for Gal Friday Vintage and am confident in its January 2020 opening on Depop.
I am about 90% sure that I am moving back to NYC to continue to build my career in theatre and expand Gal Friday Vintage. I have confidence in this little space that has given me so much joy and happiness! This photograph represents so much. It's me stripped of makeup, glasses on, with a nerdy t-shirt on, chowing down food. I admit when this photograph was taken, I was feeling a bit down. Sometimes year endings call for deep self reflection which can be hard, but I just have a really great feeling about the new year. I believe it will be filled with applying the lessons from 2019 into 2020. New opportunities, meeting new people, new living spaces, and new perspectives. I feel open, humbled, and blessed to see a new year. I thank all of you who have stuck by me on Gal Friday Vintage. I have times where it's hard for me to be as consistent as I'd like to be, but this is a space that I want to continue to grow and I hope you will all continue with me on the journey!
I will see you all soon for a new post!
