Nightgowns Pt II
I am coming to you with a brief post in this Nightgowns series and a little update and check in. To everyone reading this, I hope that you are staying safe and sane through these odd times. I hope you are all able to stay financially stable and well. I've been praying my hardest for everyone everywhere. These times constantly remind me of the verse: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." - Psalms 46:1 These times have honestly made me appreciate the little things. Yes I have moments of stir craziness and I miss my work, but there are big and small blessings that I am so grateful for. I appreciate taking a solo car ride with the windows down. Purchasing flowers to add freshness to my room. Approaching the last pages of a great novel. Enjoying a great old classic film and watching Turner Classic Movies. A phone call from a dear friend. Jazz music playing while I cook. The little things truly matter.
This 1950s/60s pastel yellow long-sleeved nylon nightgown is a favorite of mine. It's one of the first vintage nightgowns that I've ever owned and maintained its quality over the years. I love the ruffled lace at the neckline, nylon ruffle at the sleeve and hem, and the sheer sleeves. My vintage 1940s/early 50s gold and white bedroom shoes are absolutely decadent and fun to wear around the house. I love the layered fabric that creates a ruffled "pom-pom" at the center of the shoe. I consider these my "hostess slippers" and normally wear them if I am having a party or guests over.
Hope you all enjoyed this little post and I will see you next Friday!
