NYE GFV Style

Isn't it crazy to think that 2023 is in 15 days? I've been thinking a lot about the coming year and decided to put some fabulous vintage items in my Depop and Poshmark that one could wear for an unforgettable New Year's Eve! For New Year's Eve looks, I'm inspired by 1950s Rat Pack heydays and the bombshells of yesteryear. Think Jayne Mansfield in Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? (1957) or Dorothy Dandridge performing a sultry number at a nightclub.

It all starts with the base look. Will you go for a classic dress? A bedazzled jumpsuit? A killer blazer and pant set? The options are endless, but a full-length sparkly LBD is a no-brainer.

This sexy, medium Y2K full-length dress by Chelsey can be dolled up or dressed down, depending on the setting. The dress has thin spaghetti straps, and the back is simply gorgeous. There is a fabulous flora sequin design and an 18-inch slit going up the thigh on the left side. This dress is already in a few people's bags on Depop and Poshmark, so you may want to snag this number fast!

Vintage accessories would take the dress to the fabulous, over-the-top glamour that will make you stand out in a crowd. This 1950s/60s faux fox fur stole has a mix of tan, cream, and brown that gives it a layered look that makes it appear like authentic fur. Initially, I thought this faux fur number was real fur. The fake hairs feel soft to the touch, and the stole is backed with intricate netting to hold its shape. I was gifted this fabulous stole by a friend who snagged this from her grandmother's closet. It was collecting dust in my closet, and I knew someone out there would give it a lovely home.

This 1980s silver brooch by Monet comes from my great aunt's collection and is in mint condition. This brooch would pair well with a lacey cover-up or 70s/80s blazer to pair with the dress.

Finally, this 1980s silver clutch would add a special touch and bring out the silver in the sequins on the black full-length dress. This clutch has an optional strap and can be held or carried. It has a gorgeous metallic silver bow clasp. This incredible number is another piece from my great aunt's collection and is in good condition.

These items can be found in my GFV Depop and Poshmark, which are linked here.

Finally, I will be at the Deck Mahall's Holiday Market this Saturday, 12/17, from 12-6pm with my GFV vendor. Catch me there! I have a touch of laryngitis, so you'll have to bear with my voice, but I am super excited to be featured in this fantastic showing!
