Pretty in Pink II
I'm sure you can tell by now, pink is my favorite color in the world! Coral, baby pink, peach, magenta--they all figure into my life in some way. Pink record players, pink bedding, pink nightgowns, even pink fonts on album covers! I know that Crosley record players have the worst reputation, but I had to snag this magenta record player four years ago! It has its flaws--mine does not play newer records properly but is perfectly fine with older ones (which is really all I listen to!). This record, The World's Greatest Themes by Ferrante and Teichter is one of my all time favorites! They have beautiful renditions of music from one of my favorite films, The Apartment, 1960. ("Lonely Room"is a must listen!)
This post is a continuation of last week's on comfy vintage nightgowns and coverups for the colder season!
Bed jackets, bed jackets, bed jackets! I cannot stress to you how much I love a good vintage bed jacket! This is my first and only purchase of one, but I definitely want to stock up on more. I bought this gorgeous baby pink 1950s bed jacket from a lovely and stylish vintage collector (and wearer) named Sydney Crabaugh (Instagram: (personal) @squidneyknits and (insta sales) @squidneys.wardrobe). For only $10, I could not resist! The jacket has gorgeous flower cutouts around the neckline, two pretty pearl buttons, and gathering under the neck yoke to create a fuller silhouette.
To top off the look, my bed jacket is finished with beautiful scalloped edges around the hems and openings. Bed jackets are great for layering on top of nightgowns for added warmth!
Underneath my bed jacket, I'm wearing one of my favorite nightgowns that I own. This 1960s baby pink nightgown is easy to slip on and off as there are no fussy details or closures. It is very simple with a lace neckline and gathers under the yoke. The bonus with this nightgown is: it is machine washable so, I don't have to worry about hand washing!
When I wear pajamas such as these around the house, I can't help but think of Marlo Thomas as Ann Marie in That Girl (1966-71). I went for the standard 1960s fringe and bangs with an intense cat eye, nude lip, and of COURSE my falsies!
Good records and gorgeous nightgowns are all I need to make the day a little better!
I have an extensive record collection that grows more and more everyday. I hold my record player and vinyls on this fabulous 1950s stand that I picked up at Flower Child back in Lakewood, Ohio for under $40.
Some of my favorite records that I own (including the one shown in this post) are, Nina Simone Sings Strings, Ella Fitzgerald's The Complete Collection (First Half), Pal Joey Soundtrack, Nat King Cole's Unforgettable, and Doris Day's Day by Night!
Hope you enjoyed my Pretty in Pinks and I'll see you next Friday loves!
