Who Said Florals Are Only for Springtime

This is a continuation of my Week of Outfits Extended with a few more details. The original posting can be found here on Jenny Heyside's self-titled blog. This particular day was just any old ordinary day for me. Work, work, work and running errands. I love wearing easy items with drape and flow that balance comfort with a bit of style. I like wearing looks that can transition from day to evening because you never know what might come up!  Some evenings, I end up randomly deciding to meet up with a friend for cocktails or go out to dinner with a coworker.

My outfit consists of pretty much all thrifted items. This sheer black ruffled blouse with purple floral print is an absolute dream. It is one of the most comfortable blouses that I own and is super feminine and chic. I love the little ties at the cleavage, the under bust gathering, and the layered ruffled sleeves. This billowy beauty was found at the Salvation Army and is an American Eagle Outfitters top. My black sheer lined pleated palazzo pants are also from the Salvation Army and had the label cut out. I love pairing two flowy items together despite my short height. I paired the pants with heeled black ankle boots that you can't really see because I need to hem these pants a WEE bit more. My black beaded purse is a gorgeous 1960s evening bag from Flower Child that I thought paired well with this outfit. My vintage dangly earrings were bought from vintage collector Cynthia Deering.

My silver starry headband is from Target. It reminded me of Hedy Lamarr in Ziegfeld Girl (1941) which is often referenced by us vintage loving gals. My coat is an early 2000s Isaac Mizrahi herringbone lightweight coat from Salvation Army.
